What are the alternatives to Togal.AI for construction estimating?
Togal.AI gives you AI quantities; it does not price the estimate. The alternatives split into takeoff tools you operate and tools that go from plans to a finished, priced estimate.
If you use Togal.AI for takeoff, the alternatives fall into two groups. If you want to keep doing the measuring yourself, PlanSwift, STACK and Bluebeam Revu are the usual choices. If you want to skip the separate pricing step, Skoper is AI estimating, not AI takeoff: it returns a priced estimate, a scope of work and an Assumptions & Sources sheet from the uploaded plans in about three minutes.
What Togal.AI does
Togal.AI is AI quantity takeoff. Its site says it "automatically detects, measures, and compares directly from your drawings", claims up to 98% accuracy on floor plans and takeoff 5x faster, and offers one-click comparison of drawing sets and a chat tool, Togal.CHAT, for asking questions of your plans (togal.ai, read 2026-10-11). Plans are priced per user, billed yearly, with team pricing for four or more users. The site offers a demo and a self-guided tour rather than a free trial.
What it does not do is price the work. The quantities go to Excel or your estimating system, and the bid is built there.
Why estimators look past Togal
- The takeoff was never the whole job. After the quantities come pricing, markups, the scope of work and the exclusions. A faster takeoff still leaves those.
- Floor-plan geometry is not the whole set. Door, finish and equipment schedules, sections and spec-driven items carry a large share of a commercial bid.
- Per-user seats are hard to justify for a small shop or a part-time estimator.

Competitor details are as published on each vendor's site on 2026-09-15 and recorded on Skoper's comparison pages, with Togal's re-checked on 2026-10-11. Dollar figures are left out on purpose; see each vendor's pricing page. The one-to-one version is Skoper vs Togal.AI.
Which one fits
- Keep Togal if you already have an estimating system you like and the only thing you want faster is the measuring.
- Bluebeam Revu if your team also needs RFIs, submittals, overlays and field markups, and is happy to measure by hand.
- PlanSwift or STACK if you want takeoff and pricing in one tool you operate, with assembly libraries you maintain.
- Skoper if the goal is the bid. It reads schedules and sections as well as plan geometry, prices every line, records where each number came from and writes the scope of work.
Where Skoper fits
Skoper is AI construction estimating for GCs, subcontractors and trades bidding commercial and public work from drawings and specs. It reads every sheet as image and text, prices each line from your price book or market rates, and hands back an Excel workbook and a Word scope of work. Every price you change in the editor is saved to your price book. Plans are $149/month for 10 estimates or $349/month for 30, with no per-user seats. A person reviews every estimate.
A practical test: take a set you have already run through Togal, run it through Skoper, and compare what you have at the end, not just the quantities.
Frequently asked questions
Does Togal.AI price the estimate?
No. Togal's site describes AI takeoff, drawing comparison and chat; the quantities export to Excel or your estimating tool, and pricing happens there (togal.ai, read 2026-10-11).
How accurate is Togal.AI?
Togal claims up to 98% accuracy on floor plans. That is a takeoff figure for plan geometry; it does not cover pricing or items that live in schedules and specs.
What is the difference between AI takeoff and AI estimating?
AI takeoff returns quantities. AI estimating returns the priced estimate, the scope of work and where each number came from.
How accurate is Skoper?
AI is good at takeoffs. Skoper captures about 90% of what is on the plans, pricing can swing about 10% either way, and a person still reviews every estimate. Hard-to-read plan sets cause most errors.
Can I try Skoper on a real job?
Yes. Every account starts with 3 free estimates on plan sets up to 150 pages, no credit card.
Run a set you have already taken off and compare what you have at the end.
